She swipes through quick tasks on the bus to her warehouse job. Which AI response is safer? Which is more accurate? Each swipe takes 10 seconds and pays $0.50 at her Skilled rate. She does 400 tasks in the evenings.

She claims two bounties — fact-checking political claims ($20 each). She answers polls. She reviews a sponsored ad. It adds up fast.

She withdraws $253 to PayPal

One tap. The money hits her PayPal instantly. That's more than she makes in two days at the warehouse. She starts thinking about what happens if she goes full-time on NI.

Month 2

She hits Expert — $1.00/task

100 tasks with 87% accuracy. Hope is now an Expert in AI safety. Her task rate jumps to $1.00 — 4x what she started at. At the same pace, that's $400/week just from tasks.

She takes the MIT 6.034 Artificial Intelligence course on NI. She claims a $100 code review bounty — her first triple-digit gig. She creates a course teaching what she learned about AI safety. Every time one of her students succeeds, she earns a bonus.

At the end of the month, something unexpected lands in her account: a UBI payment. Every active worker on NI gets an equal share of the monthly pool — funded by 1% of all company payments plus a 1% wealth tax on high earners. It's not much yet, but it grows as the platform grows.
